Also: A bunch of new Azeda Booth shows

Check the Tour section for details. The Azeda boys are heading all over the country, including South by Southwest (which is gonna be such a blast, seriously. Seriously, you really should go. For sure.)

Günther show in Edmonton!

All you Edmontonians — Saturday, March 21 is your chance to see the unstoppable rock juggernaut that is Günther. The Hydeaway will never be the same again.

Keep your eyes peeled for a cross-Canada (almost) tour in April, too. Alberta through Quebec, prepare to have your socks knocked right off!

Günther added to Radio 3

Günther’s Nuclear Stallions has been added to the CBC Radio 3 playlist. Request the shit out of it!

…and check out some other fantastic Canadian music while you’re at it.

Günther hold down the fort

Lakesong’s favourite instro-rockers made a strong debut on the Canadian college charts (#20 — the third highest debut of the week), and will be planning a tour early next year, once bass player Scott Monro gets back from a trip to Trinadad.
In the meantime, be sure to check out Jay Crocker’s new album, Below the Ocean Over, out on Artunit Recording Company. Jay did some horn arrangements on Nuclear Stallions, and Munro gave some bass-y contributions to Jay’s album at a recording session in Tuscon, AZ. Ask him about it sometime — it sounds like a hell of an experience.

Azeda tour wraps up

Congrats to Azeda Booth on finishing up an amazing tour. They recently wrapped up their trans-Canadian trek with a show at the HiFi Club in Calgary, alongside Edmonton’s equally impressive Faunts (who did the end credits song for the game Mass Effect, for those who are into such things).
The guys’ll be taking a bit of a break (aside from a show at the skuzzy/awesome Canmore Hotel on November 15), but keep an eye out for a European tour in February of next year.

Lakesong Press has arrived

We’re up and running — keep an eye on this website, as we’ll be updating tour info for Gunther and Azeda Booth, as well as keeping you posted on what’s happening in the Calgary scene in general. Plus, we’ve got some pretty awesome ideas for projects that will eventually end up on here, and a pretty amazing third release brewing in the background.
